Using Esri's Utility Network technology (pictured on left and above) means
seeing three-dimensional, real-world reinterpretations of the City's assets.
This new system allows in-field workers to easily
locate and repair problems, maintaining consistency
throughout the network. As Hart states,
“The Utility Network is absolutely a gamechanger. Not only can we see operational changes
to the status of our assets as soon as an action is
made by our field crews, it’s also easier for our
managers and engineers to run network and pressure
system traces and provide better information to our
customers.”
The Utility Network has revolutionized the way
the City interacts with its customers during planned
or emergency outages, enabling the swift identification of affected addresses and immediate notification
of the service disruption.
Next-Gen network management
As water network management modernization
continues, the Utility Network’s comprehensive
analytical tools are vital. They offer accessibility and
assurance of the right information at the right time
for informed decision-making, not only addressing
current challenges but also paving the way for
effective network management in the future.
