THE SCOPE OF WORK for the first capital project includes the design
and construction of a new headworks facility that will include a
raw sewage pump station, a micro-tunnel extension of existing
interceptor sewers, a grit removal system, a main control room, fine
screens and compactors, and a plant emergency generator facility.
The second capital project includes the design and construction of
a new biosolids facility that will address end-of-life equipment and
regulatory requirements regarding the recovery of nutrients and
maximizing biosolids reuse. It will add new facilities to treat the sludge
from the City’s three sewage treatment plants and replace end-oflife equipment. The third capital project includes the design and
construction of the nutrient removal facilities that will remove nitrogen
and phosphorus from the wastewater. •
