Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir
$744 million
WHEN OPERATIONAL, the Springbank O昀昀Stream Reservoir Project (SR1) will work
in tandem with the Glenmore Reservoir and
other 昀氀ood mitigation infrastructure in and
around Calgary. The SR1 Project includes:
a diversion structure on the Elbow River; a
4.7-kilometre diversion channel; a 29-metre earthen dam stretching approximately
3.8 kilometres; and a series of hydraulic
structures and two overpass bridges above
the diversion channel, totalling 70,000 cubic
metres of reinforced concrete. In total, earthwork volume for this project is estimated at
around 昀椀ve million cubic metres. •

Bonnybrook Wastewater Treatment Plant D Expansion
$655 million
BONNYBROOK WASTEWATER Treatment Plant is
the largest of three wastewater treatment plants
serving Calgary. Originally built in the 1930s,
Bonnybrook is undergoing its most substantial
upgrade to date that will see its total treatment
capacity increase to nearly 1.4 million citizens
when completed in 2026. The second phase of
the Plant D Secondary Treatment expansion
includes the construction of a third BNR reactor
and two additional secondary clari昀椀ers. This will
increase the capacity of the Bonnybrook Waste
Water Treatment Plant by an additional 108,000
Equivalent Population. •
