TOP 50 WATER PROJECTS 2024
AS THE Main Construction Manager (MCM) on the Faro Mine Remediation
Project (FMRP), Parsons Inc., is initiating the procurement process
to qualify respondents for the construction, installation, testing, and
commissioning of a Permanent Water Treatment Plant (PWTP) at the Faro
Mine Complex (FMC). The FMC is located in east-central Yukon, near the
town of Faro, on the traditional territory of the Kaska Nation, with Ross
River Dena being the closest community.
The proposed PWTP will use a lime High Density Sludge (HDS) process
consisting of a water treatment building, slurry tank, lime silos, reactors,
polymer addition, thickener, filter building, O&M building, influent & effluent
conveyance and pit pumping unit. The proposed PWTP is designed to treat
a nominal maximum flow of 61,000 cubic metres per day (m3/d) and a

hydraulic maximum flow of 75,000 cubic metres per day (m3/d) of water.
This procurement has been structured into two parts: A Phase One
– Request for Qualifications followed by a Phase Two – Request for
Proposal. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) defines the requirements
for the qualification of Respondents. The purpose of this RFQ is to solicit
documentation that will enable Parsons to determine which Respondents:
A. Are best qualified to successfully execute the Work of the PWTP, and
B. Will be invited to submit a bid in response to Parsons’ RFP for the PWTP.
Only those shortlisted respondents, considered by Parsons to meet the
mandatory and point-rated qualifications requirements as defined in this
RFQ, will be invited to submit a bid for the work during the Phase Two:
Request for Proposal (RFP) phase. •
