Red-Seine-Rat (RSR) WWTP
$110 million

THE RED-SEINE-RAT (RSR) facility and conveyance system will
provide the regional municipalities of Niverville, Taché, Hanover and
Ritchot with a new plant that will enable them to reduce greenhouse
gases by moving away from traditional wastewater lagoons to
mechanized wastewater treatment. The project also includes
installation of a wastewater conveyance system with approximately
90 kilometres of effluent pipeline as well as new lift and pump
stations. The facility will be located north of Niverville, in the Regional
Municipality of Ritchot, adjacent to an existing lagoon site. It will serve
more than 30,000 people with a capacity for up to 70,000 residents.
he new facility will accommodate projected residential growth in the
region over the next 25 years. •

ARROW Utilities Wastewater Treatment Plant

Scheduled completion: 2025
CONSTRUCTION ON the ARROW Utilities
Train 4 Expansion project commenced in
fall 2023 and is anticipated to conclude by
2025. ARROW Utilities, formerly known
as the Alberta Capital Region Wastewater
Commission, serves over 400,000
Albertans and numerous businesses
across 13 municipalities in the capital
region. The expansion of the ARROW
Utilities facility will facilitate increased
wastewater treatment capacity, enabling
the development of a water source
specifically tailored for industrial use. It
is expected the project will also help keep
water rates affordable for residential
ratepayers and commercial and industrial
businesses throughout the capital region.
The expansion project primarily focuses
on upgrading the ARROW Utilities
Wastewater Treatment Plant in Strathcona
County, which serves communities
throughout the Edmonton area. •
