that they all affect one another. “This statement
goes beyond Peel Region’s capital delivery. In fact,
we are coordinating our work with projects being
delivered by other stakeholders such as the Ministry
of Transportation (MTO), Town of Caledon and
City of Brampton where our project locations and
timelines overlap,” explains Scarpato. “The goal is
to minimize disruption to businesses and residents
as much as possible. Having a single consultant
and entity taking over responsibility for design,
communication, coordination and construction
management allows the Region to ensure consistent
capital delivery.”
“The programmatic approach allows the Region
and the Town to work together and make sure that
anytime there’s a change or a new demand, it is being
handled in a way that is going to be built into what
affects everybody as a whole,” adds Melissa Carter,
project manager for the consultant team for Stantec.
The program is resourced with experts in their
field, like those from Stantec. There is a project
management team in place consisting of various
disciplines. Each individual will establish procedures
