Conclusion
When we started this project Water
Canada didn’t know exactly what to
expect, but it’s safe to say we assumed
that there would be more easily
accessible data out there waiting for
us to compile. Unfortunately, that’s
not what we encountered, but that’s
okay. We now have a starting point, a
reference point. Open data projects are
becoming more ubiquitous and new
datasets are being put online with ever
increasing frequency. When we return
to this topic, which we are sure to do in
the future, we will be able to track the
progress of our provincial and territorial
governments in getting information
about this vital resource into the hands
of the Canadian public.
