Inverness Wastewater Treatment Facility
Replacement & Linear Renewal • $24 million

This multi-project initiative will replace the outdated wastewater treatment
facility in the community of Inverness with a modernized facility that will
accommodate continued residential and commercial growth. The wastewater
treatment facility replacement will provide more efficient treatment. This
project will also upgrade and renew the water distribution network and sanitary
collection systems on Central Avenue and Veteran’s Memorial Court. These
improvements will enhance efficiency and reliability, protect public health, ensure
environmental compliance, and address ageing infrastructure so the municipality
can optimize water distribution and reduce water loss. •

Rehabilitation of Lindsay Water
Treatment Plant and Watermains • $18 million

THE ORANGEVILLE Water Pollution Control Plant consists of two separate
extended aeration facilities–the old plant and the new plant. These facilities
introduce air into the processing water, creating a natural environment for
microorganisms to grow and decompose organic waste. Both sections are
responsible for wastewater generated by approximately 11,308 households within
Town limits.
The rehabilitation project includes:
• Replacements on Secondary Clarifier 3
• Upgrades and replacements in Digester 2
• Replacing the two heat exchangers
• Structural rehabilitation of the Detritor, Digestor 2, and the Secondary Clarifier 3
• Replacement of the Digester Building Complex roof
• Electrical, instrumentation, and control upgrades related to equipment •

REHABILITATION OF the Lindsay Water Treatment
Plant and replacement of watermains on Lindsay Street
and King Street will improve access to potable water
by increasing the reliability and efficiency of the water
treatment infrastructure in the area. The scope of work,
being done by Bennett Construction Group, includes:
Draining and Relocating Sludge in Lagoon 3; construction
of new berms; installation of new metering chamber;
installation of new WAS pumps, and reconfiguration
of existing WAS and RAS piping; installation of new
RAS forcemain to new aeration tank inlet distribution
chamber; installation of new WAS forcemain to Lagoon
2; installation of new chemical (Alum) lines to aeration
tank effluent channel; installation of submersible
mixers complete with fine bubble diffusers; cast in
place construction of new Aeration Tanks; construction
of new blower building, installation of turbo blower
and associated piping; installation of launders covers
for secondary clarifiers; and supply, installation and
commissioning of all associated mechanical, electrical
and SCADA components. •
