THE OBJECTIVE of the Bradford Water Pollution Control Plant
upgrades project is to address the plant’s operational requirements. This will ensure that there is adequate wastewater
treatment capacity to service growth to 2031. The project
consists of three phases. Phase 1 is to ensure the plant is in a
good state of repair, evaluate process optimization and validate
upgrades. Phase 2 will include design and construction for plant
tertiary treatment systems, and Phase 3 will include design and
construction for projects recommended by the plant process
optimization and state of good repair analyses. •

THE WILLIAMS LAKE Water Treatment Plant
in British Columbia is undergoing signi昀椀cant
upgrades to improve water quality and safety.
In October 2023, the federal and provincial
governments, along with the City of Williams
Lake, announced an investment of over $24.3
million for the construction of a new facility
aimed at reducing manganese levels in the
drinking water.
Additionally, in November 2024, the city
council approved the use of chloramines as
a secondary disinfection method to avoid the
formation of harmful by-products from chlorine, ensuring safer drinking water. •
