Honouring Water’s Future
BLUE CITIES 2025, hosted by Canadian Water Network (CWN),
took place in Mississauga, ON on May 14th and 15th. The
exciting event brought together municipal, private, and
non-profit leaders from across the country for two days of
solution-focused dialogue.
This year’s theme, Navigating the waves: Strategic management of risk in uncertain times, tackled some of the most pressing issues faced in the water sector, such as workforce capacity,
climate impacts, infrastructure investment, and affordability.
A highlight of the event was the launch of the inaugural
Canadian Water Network Awards, honouring individuals
whose work is shaping the future of water in Canada. These
awards recognized outstanding contributions to water management, innovation, and leadership.
Three professionals were honoured for their exceptional
